//If the field is empty, add the ID, along with a line break - that will help sort the difference between values like "1" and "12"
ArrayValues = "" ; ItemSelected & "¶" ; 

//If it's already in the list, remove it from the list.
PatternCount ( ArrayValues ; ItemSelected & "¶" ) ; 
Substitute ( ArrayValues ; ItemSelected & "¶" ; "" ) ; 

//If it's not in the list, add it.
ArrayValues & ItemSelected & "¶" )

When a user selects an item, that value will be added to the Array. However, if the value already exists in the Array, it will be removed, so as to prevent duplicates.
