Purpose:  Convert decimal degrees (DD) to degrees minutes (DM).

Calling:  DDtoDM( latORlon; Type) of the form DDtoDM ( "38.2065", "lat" )  The result would be 38° 12.390'N.

latORlon:  Decimal degrees.  Values in the southern or western hemispheres would be negative values.

Type: Can be either "latitude" or "longitude".  "lat" or "lon" can also be used.  Type can be in any case:  lower, upper, or mixed.

DM:  Matches the form that is produced by Google Earth and can be used in Google Maps.  Note that the degree symbol (°) is that used by Google Earth and Google Maps it is Unicode 176 (shift-option-8).  The minutes are decimal minutes.  There is no space between the minute sign (') and the hemisphere.  Either latitude or longitude can be sent for conversion and it will be converted correctly.

Converts decimal degrees (DD) to degrees minutes (DM). The format of degrees minutes can be used with Google Earth and Google Maps. Calling the function requires two paramaters: (1) the latitude or longitude in decimal degrees and (2) the type of decimal degrees either "latitude" or "longitude". The type can be shortened to "lat" or "lon" and may be in any case: upper, lower, or mixed.
